The Municipal Assembly shall decide on the naming, renaming, merging, dividing and abolition of settlements and streets and on the definition of the area of a settlement.

In areas inhabited by members of the Slovene nation and members of the Hungarian or Italian ethnic minorities, the Self-governing Interests Community for Education and Culture of the minority in question shall participate in the decision-making process mentioned in the preceding paragraph.
